I think it should work anyway but just make sure that it is for the PHAT PSP. The difference being is that the one I downloaded had five GIFF files which looked likes egg yolks yet the other download only had one picture of a coin or something of that nature. Anyway unpack your download with WINRAR or whatever. You will see an exploit file which is a TIFF file and a H.bin file. Take the TIFF file (it has to be a TIFF file and not a GIFF, I say this because my download was a GIFF file that was never going to work) and put it in your PHOTO folder, If you don’t have a PHOTO folder put the tiff file in PICTURE instead.
First you're able to comprehend PSP won't be able to assist all the MP4, get any movies to play nicely on PSP, the terrific format is mp4(avc video codec, aac audio codec), convert any movies to mp4 movies, there is an basic way, i'm applying RZ Video Converter Lite to try this nicely, you could attempt it by ability of youself, it could convert any movies or audios to PSP avc/h.264 movies, etc. It could customize the bitrate of the objective movies, decrease bitrate decrease length. First up, chickHEN is a b*tch to load, end of!!! It will work eventually but you have to have lots of patience and realise that there is a set procedure of a sort to get this to work. It is very much a trial an error but it is worth it in the end, I assure you. Anyway I have a white psp TA-082 motherboard with OFW 3.11 running on it. The only way to get 3.11 upgraded to a CFW (preferably 5.00 M33 6) was to buy a pandora battery right? Wrong, the battery was rubbish, didn’t fit in my machine to even charge up let alone get it to run. I had to sit there holding this thing in but after a few flashes of the battery light it stopped and did nothing.

You can copy images from your digital camera straight to this folder and be able to view it on the PSP. The images have to follow this strict naming format: DSCxxxxx.JPG, where xxxxx can be any 5-digit number. Now that you know how to use the different folders, try playing around with them and maximize the full potential of the PSP! Sebastian said.

Put the HELLCAT RECOVERY folder in to your PSP/GAME directory. Next download the official 5.00 eboot for official firmware. Don’t download 5.03 or any other version just the 5.00 and make sure that it is the official version. When you have done this rename the eboot to 500 (not 500.PBP) as it is already a PBP extension and that would just make it 500.PBP.PBP which is wrong). This is where I was going wrong I think.I just made sure that I had this file everywhere so the PSP could not give me any excuses that it couldn’t find it, like it had been doing. So copy this 500 file and place it into the PSP/GAME/RECOVERY folder and then copy the file on it’s own just below the RECOVERY folder. Then make a folder named ‘UPDATE’ and drop the 500 file into that as well and put that folder into the RECOVERY folder and underneath the RECOVERY folder. Then put the ‘UPDATE’ folder on your root directory (just to make sure) and a loose 500 file below that also on you root directory.
If you download or install update data from another source, by another method, or with a PSP ® system that has been altered or modified in any way, the PSP ® system may not operate properly and may not be able to install the official update data. Are you a new user of custom firmware? Baffled by the many different folders available on your memory stick? Fret not, I've put together a short and simple guide to explain to you the folders and their uses. If you don't have the default set of folders on your memory stick, simply format your memory stick using your PSP. Go to Settings > System Settings > Format Memory Stick. ALL DATA WILL BE LOST, so remember to make a backup before formatting. You can still continue reading this guide without formatting your memory stick, just take note of the folders you want and create them manually on your memory stick.
Is what you listed on here an emulator too? Confused with all thislolbasically what you have us doing is what? Sorry for being so dumb about this tony I have ISOs and CSOs on my comp. It may seem over the top and it is for sure, to put this 500 file in so many different places but I am not actually sure other than the root directory where this file is supposed to go. It should actually just go into the root directory (as all the threads suggest but so what if you have more than you need. OK now, go to retore default settings on your PSP and go through the instructions. The PSP will then reboot. You are now officially running chickHEN R2 and if you don’t believe me then check you system settings. Just remember to be patient and it can take ages to get this to eventually work. It is a major achievment just getting this far but you will not have to do all this again if you can get to the end and install the custom firmware, so persevere. Carefully put the PSP battery lid back on but be careful as turning the PSP off or dropping the battery out of the PSP will reset you back to 5.03 and you will have to install chickHEN all over again and believe me you don’t want to have keep getting chickHEN to run on your PSP. OK, once chickHEN is running simply navigate to your memory stick and click on the HELLCAT installer, which ever version you have should be fine, just bear in mind that only the HELLCAT 1.50 version will show up the ‘install M33 cfw’ option.
The following article details the process of setting up your PSP with the PRO custom firmware. PRO firmware enables your vendor-locked device to do many more functions, including but not limited to:
- Play downloaded and/or backed-up ISO and CSO games.
- Play homebrew games and applications.
- Customise advanced settings, overclock your processor and change to custom themes.
For more details and benefits of cfw, check out the main article.
Prerequisites
To proceed with the custom firmware process, all you need is:
- A working PSP console, any version.
- PSP data transfer cable, or a way to connect the memory stick to your PC.
- Additional file(s) needed for Go! variants, will be mentioned in the article.
- An up-to-date firmware version.
PRO supports the latest firmware (version 6.61) released by Sony, and it is recommended that you upgrade to receive the latest fixes and improvements before proceeding. However, if you do wish to remain with an older firmware, the latest custom firmware version supports back to 6.20. Ensure you download the version that matches your current firmware version!
To determine your PSP firmware version, open System Settings on the XMB, then select System Information. The System Software will let you know which version you have.
Downloads
Ensure you download the version that matches your PSP firmware. If your firmware does not match any of the listed, then consider updating your firmware. Installing a mismatched version may brick your PSP.
Setup
Once you’ve downloaded the corresponding custom firmware package for your console, then we’re ready to begin!
Extract your downloaded archive to a place on your computer. The folder is created should look like this inside.
The developers structure the layout so that it can simply be dropped into the root of your PSP, and the files will be placed where they need to be.
![Download Download](http://i1181.photobucket.com/albums/x428/redguy100_aqw/psp3-1.png)
Connect your PSP to your computer with your data cable, or if you have the means to do so connect your Memory Stick Duo (or MicroSD) to your computer. Copy the PSP and seplugin folders from your extracted archive, and paste them into the root of your PSP. The PSP folder is supposed to already be there, so when it asks if you wish to merge folders, say yes.
Now the files are on your PSP, we can now disconnect it from your computer.
Installing
Returning to the PSP, you should now have some new entries under Memory Stick menu item in Game. You should have entries for Pro Update, Pro Fast Recovery and Pro CIPL Flasher. If any or all of these come up as corrupted media, then double check your firmware versions and try again.
To install the custom firmware, run the Pro Update application. The console will act like it’s running a game. If successful, you should be greeted with a black screen with tiny white text on it. Press X and your PSP will reboot itself into custom firmware mode.
Check your PSP firmware like you did earlier on, and if all was successful your system software will show the custom firmware you installed after it.
That’s it, you’re now running custom firmware! However, this is not permanent. Every time you start up your PSP, you will need to run Pro Fast Recovery to return to the custom firmware state. It’s not exactly a difficult process, but in a few cases you do have the option to make this permanent.
If you’re happy to re-run the software on reboot, then feel free to delete CIPL Flasher and Pro Update from your console.
(Optional) Making it Permanent
If you have a an older PSP, such as a first or early second generation then you are in luck and this process is super quick. Simply after the reboot occurs and you are in the custom firmware state, run the last of the PRO package, CIPL Flasher.
Now this tool will write your custom firmware to the tiny, tiny onboard storage the PSP has for operation. This process is tried and tested, but ensure you follow the on-screen prompts when running it. After installing it, there should be a brief pause and your PSP will reboot into custom firmware mode again.
Check to see if it worked by rebooting your PSP, and without running PRO Update check your Firmware version and see if you have PRO mentioned in it. If so, your custom firmware is permanent! You can now delete all the entries for PRO in the Games menu.
If later on you decide to remove your permanent custom firmware, simply download the package again and re-run CIPL Flasher. There will be an option to remove it and return to the original firmware state.
This article is still in progress, but please let us know what details you would like to be seen!
