League of Legends' lead gameplay designer, Mark Yetter, revealed some new balance targets for the upcoming 10.8 patch. The specific changes aren't out yet, but we have a brief overview of what the new patch might be including.
The list of champions that will receive nerfs this patch is as follows:
- Sett
- Master Yi
- Aphelios
- Kalista
- Senna
- Varus
Kalista has seen a big rise in popularity both on top lane and in the AD Carry role in the last couple of patches. She has a very dominant early game as the constant kiting, together with Rend (E) allows her to get the better of the opponent in most of the trades.
Sett has been a top priority pick for a couple of patches now. His ability to play every role besides ADC makes him a very reliable flex pick in the draft, so the fact that he's getting nerfed doesn't come as a surprise.

Champions that will receive buffs this patch include:
- Urgot
- Evelyn
- Xayah
- Soraka
- Tristana
- Ashe
- Ryze
- Orianna
We could be heading back to the last season's Kai'Sa - Xayah ADC meta, considering the fact that they are slowly getting buffed with each patch in addition to the other strong AD carries like Senna and Kalista getting tuned down again.
Urgot has been seeing some love for a couple of patches now and it seems like Riot is trying to push him back into the top lane meta where he rightfully belongs.
Well League of Legends fans, here we are at the start of a new decade and a brand new update cycle. League of Legends patch 10.1 has landed, bringing a ton of balance changes and Sett, LoL’s new Juggernaut Champion. League of Legends season 10 is upon us, and that means it’s time to check out what’s just hit the MOBA game’s PBE testing servers ahead of patch 10.2.
While it seemed League of Legends patch 10.2 would bring the long-anticipated Wukong rework, with the Monkey King seeing some extensive balance change testing on the PBE early on this cycle, it now seems that players will have to wait a little longer for the Champion’s update. Lead LoL gameplay designer Mark Yetter recently tweeted that Wukong’s overhaul wasn’t ready for patch 10.1, and while it seemed it could have arrived in 10.2, the Diver Champ’s balance changes have now been reverted.
That means we’ll likely have to wait until patch 10.3 or later to see the big changes to Wukong to go live – be sure to keep checking back to find out.
In the meantime, however, those Guardian of the Sands and Dragonslayer skins introduced as part of the last patch are continuing on the PBE for some more testing this cycle. You can get a look at them in the League of Legends patch 10.1 notes. Plus, there are a bunch more general Champion balance changes and some item changes to look out this round – read on below to see what’s about to hit the live servers.
